Lifekeepers' History

The vision of the Lifekeepers came to me at 3:00 in the morning. This is the time that I’ve received a number of gifts, visions, and messages. It is also the time that Tony left this world by his own hand.

For Several years after he died I awoke at this time. Early on it was to despair, sometimes to “feeling” Tony’s presence or the need to read, write, grieve, to rummage through the past, figuratively and literally. I still wake up at 3:00 a.m. a few mornings a week, usually now to raise up and see, oh yes, it’s that “time.”

The Lifekeeper thing happened in the same manner. I awoke as if summoned, rose, grabbed pen and paper. I was guided through the crude sketching of the manufacture, and share this gift with other survivors and friends of survivors. I would place this labor of love under the umbrella of the Lifekeeper Foundation, in memory of my precious son, Tony, and in honor of all the other beautiful and loved people who completed suicide. I cried until I was spent and returned to bed.

What is a Lifekeeper, and what does it symbolize? It is an interchangeable pendant (available in necklace, bracelet, and pin). It is circular in design, actually it is a circle in a circle that acts as the foundation to house the seven infinity symbols. Seven is a cardinal number and a cardinal number is defined as one of most importance. Seven is the number used from Genesis to Revelation in the Bible; some people call it the perfect number. Most of all, it’s because it’s just supposed to be seven.

Infinity symbolizes that life for us, for our spirit, our true and authentic self will live on forever, seven times longer than infinity. Infinity and Eternity are synonyms, each defined as the absence of limits in time. We will be without our loved ones physical presence on this earth, in this time zone, of that we are sure, and incapable of changing. We do “have” them in many ways, we “find” them everyday. Yet we are left with a huge void. The Lifekeeper symbolizes that we will one day “live” with them again, seven times longer than infinity. When I understood I decided this absence is a short parting, albeit an excruciating one.

Yet one day I will have an infinite time to spend with Tony, you with your loved one. This comforts me, it doesn’t explain nor does it try to. It does not ever make it okay. It merely offers me hope, encourages me to keep living, to keep Life. The Lifekeeper also symbolizes that Tony still lives, and your loved one too will live, seven times longer than eternity which is infinite.

The Lifekeeper is all sterling silver which makes it attractive and affordable to everyone. The design lends itself to being neutral, make or female will wear it. All profits from the sale of the Lifekeeper jewelry, art, and keepsakes through HOPES will be donated to the HOPES organization. The Lifekeeper is a treasured gift to me, I feel honored to be a conduit for it. I hope the Lifekeeper’s value will be found in giving comfort to the wearer. If this can be accomplished, all the hard work to take it from a vision to a tangible memento will be priceless. We survivors need something tangible to hold in the midst of our emptiness. A moments peace and comfort may get us through hours of pain, for in it is hope. Hope for us, our family, all mankind. Especially if there is hope, love, and remembrance of the one who is now gone from this earth, onto their own infinity.

I thank you for your support, I honor your journey, I’m glad we have Life to Keep. Found Peace, Now Searching for Joy.
